Suzhou Korean School opened in March 2014 and has been teaching elementary through to high school students (aged between 7 and 18). The following year saw the opening ceremonies of both middle and high school. They temporarily leased a Chinese middle school building in Jinchangxincheng from March 2014 and has since launched a new school building site located in Taihuxincheng from September 2016. Following the opening of their new site, SKS opened a kindergarten in March 2017.
SKS is the 13th Korean school in China and currently has 332 students and expect to bring a greater number of students over the coming years. Based on a globalizing society, the structure of SKS’s education aims to raise trilingual students able to speak Chinese and English as well as their mother tongue, Korean. Also, in an attempt to improve creativity, the school has a variety of after-school classes. Suzhou Korean School puts value on social morality, musical gifts and so on. It develops and activates language and cultural exchange programs with Chinese schools nearby and the wider community.
