Mount Yu-Shanghu Lake Tourist Resort, a provincial-level tourist resort in Jiangsu Province, is a beautiful collection of several scenic spots, including a national AAAAA scenic area composed of Yushan National Forest Park and Shanghu National Urban Wetland Park, a national cultural relic protection unit named Yanyuan Garden, and ZengZhao Garden (Zeng’s Garden & Zhao’s Garden) where tourists could enjoy different scenery of two gardens. It is a tourist resort characterized by abundant natural resources.
Yushan Mount, Shanghu Lake, farming land, and the ancient district of Changshu city together with the Yushan Culture and Liangzhu Culture they carry have made the tourist resort a representative of the “mountain and paddy fields” and Wu Culture in the south of the Yangtze River. The resort has its unique charm all year round: blooming peony around Shanghu Lake in spring, myrica rubra at Baoyan EcologicalPark in summer, red maple leaves at Yushan Mount in autumn, and the bell from ancient temple in winter. Besides its marvelous scenery, lots of domestic and international events such as Changshu Half Marathon and STC Triathlon Seires have been held and flourished in the resort.
