Suzhou Western Ecotourism Resort is located in the western tip of Suzhou High-tech Zone, surrounded by the Taihu lake on three sides. The resort covers a total area of 20.1 square kilometers with a registered population of 21,000, administering 10 villages and 2 communities. It boasts a beautiful ecological environment, profound cultural heritage, the spectacular natural landscape and rich tourism resources. The resort has been awarded the first Provincial Tourist Resort in Suzhou High-tech Zone, the first National Ecotourism Demonstration Zone in Suzhou and the first National Cultural Tourism Pilot Zone in Jiangsu province, becoming a demonstration area for the high-quality ecological development in High-tech Zone.
The resort has always adhered to the strategy of “developing the area through ecological balance and sports tourism”. Under the guidance of the concept of “a fashionable and green resort for leisure” and relying on the unique natural landscape resources, it successively built a national AAAA level tourist attraction -- Suzhou Taihu Lake National Wetland Park, a national fishing competition training base -- Chushan Ecological Park, the first international four-star campsite in China -- The Taihu Lake RV Camping Park, the famous sea of flowers in Suzhou -- Xijing Bay and a natural island -- Gongshan Island.
