As of 2023, Suzhou boasted 11 public libraries, 46 registered museums, 11 cultural centers and 99 cultural stations.
Suzhou successfully held a series of cultural events including the Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo, Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival, Jiangsu Book Fair, Yangtze River Cultural Festival, Cultural and Creative Design Industry Trade Expo, and the Chinese Opera (Kunshan) Grand Ceremony, etc. Suzhou sent a delegation to the United States for the "Echoes of Tang Poetry: iSING! Suzhou and the Philadelphia Orchestra Chinese New Year Concert" and invited the orchestra to pay a return visit. 5 cultural projects from Suzhou were included in the 2023 National Art Fund, and 13 cultural works (projects) were selected for the 2023 Provincial Art Fund. 81 key projects of the municipal cultural industry have been added. The construction of the Yangtze River and Grand Canal National Cultural Park has been accelerated, and the Yuanhetang Cultural Industry Park has been rated as a national demonstration park for cultural industry. The city has built the first Chinese Opera Museum in China that gathers 348 types of traditional Chinese operas. The compilation of the "Suzhou Encyclopedia" has achieved phased results.
The annual operating income of cultural enterprises above designated size was 346.74 billion yuan, an increase of 2.6% over the previous year.
