The retail sale of consumer goods reached 958.29 billion yuan in 2023, retaining the first place in the province, a rise of 6.4% over the previous year.
The operating income of the service industry above designated size was up about 14%, and the added value of productive service industry accounted for about 57% of the total added value of service industry. A batch of renowned institutions such as T?V Rheinland, Baker Tilly, and Commerce & Finance Law Office have successively settled in Suzhou. Suzhou was selected as a national comprehensive circulation pivot city.
Suzhou ranks among the top ten cities in the country in terms of the newly opened first stores by domestic and international brands. Suzhou's experience of unconditional returning of any purchased items for offline shopping is promoted nationwide. The city leaps into the top in the consumer satisfaction evaluation among hundred cities conducted by China Consumers Association in two consecutive years.
