Suzhou is home to 6 scenic areas of 5A Class and 36 scenic areas of 4A Class. There are a total of 57 rural leisure tourism agricultural boutique villages, 70 rural tourism boutique routes, and 100 rural tourism boutique lodges.
In 2023, Suzhou received a total of 158.524 million tourists from both home and abroad, an increase of 63.6% over the previous year.
The city was recognized as a national demonstration zone for cultural relics preservation and utilization with 61 national key cultural relics protection units and 128 provincial cultural relics protection units.
A Graceful Night Tour in the Humble Administrator's Garden, a night tour program launched by Suzhou, won the 2023 edition of Global Awards for World Heritage Education Innovative Cases.
