Work Responsibilities
Deputy Mayor Gu Haidong oversees the executive work of Suzhou Municipal People’s Government. He is also responsible for the work concerning development and reform, emergency management, statistics, taxation, finance, supervision and administration of state-owned assets, governmental examination and approval, management of governmental services, transparency of government affairs, administration of government logistics, food and strategic reserves, energy and achievement of dual carbon goals, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region (construction of its demonstration zone and the northward expansion zone of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District), key projects, industrial planning, digital economy, service industry, collaboration and assistance between the eastern and western regions, and the cooperation between Suzhou and cities in northern Jiangsu. The deputy mayor assists the mayor in finance and auditing-related work.
