The 2024 Cross-Strait (Kunshan) Marathon is set to kick off on Dec. 8. Recognized as an A-class event by the Chinese Athletics Association, this year’s race includes a full marathon, a half marathon and a fun run to be attended by a total of 16,000 runners. Registration for the full marathon and the half marathon will be closed at 15:00 on Nov. 12 and participating runners will be selected by drawing lots if the number of applicants exceeds the limit. Registration for the fun run will be closed at 9:00 on Nov. 23 or when the limit is reached.
The 2024 Cross-Strait (Kunshan) Marathon is set to gun off at 8:00 on Dec. 8 at the Kunshan West Sports Center on Ma’anshan Road. With the theme of “One family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait”, the race has become a platform for sports and cultural exchanges between Kunshan and Taiwan. This year’s event sets aside 100 “Cross-Strait Hand in Hand” slots, where one runner from Taiwan and one from the Chinese mainland can secure direct entry to the race if they pair up to register for the same category.
The Cross-Strait (Kunshan) Marathon was founded in 2018 and has been successfully held for three sessions so far. After a 4-year hiatus, it is being held again in December this year.
The results of the draws for the full marathon and the half marathon will be announced at 15:00 on Nov. 19 and then participants can apply for race kit mailing service which is expected to take place 5 days before the event starts.
